IA is a blended capital fund, primarily providing patient and flexible loans that can be customized based on projects. Our investments range from $100,000 to $2,500,000, have terms of 6 months - 7 years, and vary in interest rate and repayment structure. Investments may support fixed assets, equipment, real estate, facilities, construction, working capital, project finance, and more.

Place-based community lenders such as Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs) and loan funds are key partners for IA, and our investments are tailored to be compatible with these lending partners. We encourage prospective borrowers to start with their local community lender; IA may refer projects to one or more of its lending partners for follow-up.

To be considered, projects must meet all of the following criteria:
- Located in or primarily serving the Central Appalachian Region.
- Create positive social, environmental, and economic impacts for the region.
- Align with one of IA’s sectors of focus.
- Be financially viable.

What this is not:
- A source for personal or individual loans.
- A proposal for grant funding.
- A loan application (invitations to apply will be based on this intake form).
